Meet Johanna Perez-Shovlin, our Sr. Test Specialist, Requirements Validation/TOV, who has put several hours into progressing her skills and career. Johanna has completed the required training and has received THREE separate certifications that will benefit her career and her growth - ISTQB Software Tester Certification, CSM/SCRUM Certification, and SQL Certification.
The International Software Testing Qualifications Board (ISTQB) is one of the leading software testing certifications that is recognized worldwide, making you eligible to get testing jobs anywhere in this world, unlike other countrywide certifications. "My ISTQB Software Test Certification provided a foundation for my software testing skills. I was a software tester before I became a nurse, but it had been a long time since I had tested and it helped to polish up my knowledge," said Johanna.

The Certified ScrumMaster (CSM/SCRUM Certification) is key to helping the Scrum Team perform at their highest level. CSMs help protects the team from both internal and external distractions. This credential demonstrates to your employees and team that you have the experience and skills to lead an agile team to success. "The CSM/SCRUM Certification has been valuable in managing EHRM. The incremental, cyclical agile approach places individuals and interactions over tools. That approach has been indispensable in navigating a very challenging VA EHRM project with strong, intelligent personalities," said Johanna.

The Microsft Structured Query Language (SQL) is a database development certification that verifies that you can develop and maintain complex database and information solutions, making you a valuable asset to employers. "My humble SQL certification from UC California - Davis which I obtained from Coursera last month has helped me immensely. It refreshed SQL skills which I have needed to edit test case reports in our test case repository, ALM. The class helped me find a defect in a SQL report which fixed a join in a report which was pulling no results for EHRM—we needed this report to quickly pull data. This week, I am working on another SQL report to support User Functional Testing," said Johanna.
