The specific phases of ITIL are Service Strategy, Service Design, Service Transition, Service Operation, and Continual Service Improvement. The focus is on IT Service Management.
The ITIL v3 Foundation Certification can help those who require a basic understanding of the ITIL framework and how it can be used to enhance IT service management. According to Matt, "This certification has given me the ability to view all design steps and testing models as services we deliver to our clients and their end-users. The specific phase of ITIL that we focus on is the Service Transition; where the service transitions from development to production operations. We utilize testing and quality controls to ensure the Strategy and Design of what was created fits the expectation of the client. ITIL helps me utilize a framework to manage risk, strengthen customer relations and establish best practices that support client expectations."
